FAQ
Q: Where should I place the chip ?
A: It's suggested to place it as shown on the installation diagram.

Q: What is the correct behaviour of the LED ?
A: The LED is red when you turn on the console, then turns off for half a second, then turns green and stays green until the drive is reset by the Wii.

Q: Is it possible to disable the chip ?
A: Yes, we suggest using an external switch between point K and GND. The LED will stay red when the chip is disabled. In theory you could use one of the Wii buttons instead of an external switch but you'd need to remember holding it each time the drive is initialized.

Q: Can you explain the purpose of the "Turn on/off your console 5 times" procedure in the manual ?
A: This is a test procedure you should only try once, right after soldering your chip, to verify that it's been correctly installed. Installers usually run a game for a couple of minutes to verify that their installation is good. Because wasabi is not physically patching the lines while the game is running, we recommend using our own procedure instead.

Q: What the purpose of the optional "Flash Recovery" wire ?
A: Its purpose is to boot the chip from a backup firmware in case the chip's main firmware is damaged due to a power outrage while upgrading for example. The chip will work fine even if you don't install this wire.
Troubleshooting
Q: The LED stays red, what's the problem ?
A: It's likely an installation problem. Verify that your wires are correctly installed, and that you selected the right drive version on the chip. Remember that power wires (3V3 and GND) must be shorter than 1 inch (2.5cm) to minimize noise.

Q: I've already checked the installation, shortened the power wires or changed the wires if needed, but the LED still stays red, what's the problem ?
A: We are aware of an incompatibility problem with a small percentage of drives. The LED stays red even if the install is good, and using another chip doesn't solve the problem. The current work-around to solve the problem is to connect a 47uF capacitor between GND and K point. Our technical team is working on another solution. We apologize for the inconvenience, we'll post more info when available. Thanks to Moda, jmlacroix, Frenik and Evasion for the current fix.

Q: The led turns turns green, red, green, red and so on, what's wrong?
A: You have a DMS or D2B drive and didn't solder the correct bridge (between D and another point) for drive selection.

Q: The LED doesn't turn on at all, what's the problem ?
A: Verify GND and 3V3 connections.
